Miroslava Hapalová has led the Scio Research team since September 2024, focusing on research into curiosity and the use of artificial intelligence in education. Previously, she served as the Director of the State Pedagogical Institute in Slovakia, where she was responsible for preparing and implementing curriculum reform in primary schools (ages 6–15) and introducing support measures in education. She also has experience working with international organisations such as UNICEF and the Council of Europe, as well as in the non-profit sector, having led the Slovak branch of People in Need (Člověk v tísni) for eight years. Her research background lies primarily in inclusive education and ensuring equal access to quality education for all children. She holds a degree in Psychology from the Faculty of Arts at Comenius University in Bratislava.
